Spring 2021 Spotlight

Dhymond Revan
Soror Dhymond Revan (Spring '21) is a senior at GW from Princeton, NJ studying Criminal Justice and Spanish. Her family is from St. Thomas USVI, which is also her home. Throughout her college career, Dhymond has been heavily involved on campus, holding various student leadership positions. From Freshman to Junior year, Dhymond served as a student leader in the Honey W. Nashman Center, which harnessed her passion for advocacy and public service. Her proudest accomplishment was completing over 300 hours of community service for Americorps Jumpstart during her junior year. During the Spring 2021 semester, Dhymond researched with a team under a GW Faculty member which focused on creating models of how to have classrooms that center on students of color. Lastly, Dhymond was selected to be a member of the 2021-2022 LeadershipDELTA cohort. This program assists with professional development skills through mentorship, resume building, and networking. Upon completing her Bachelor degree, she hopes to attend graduate school and work for a non-profit organization in the DC area.
Spring 2017 Spotlight

Charleene Smith
Soror Charleene (Spring 17) spent her time at GW majoring in Human Services and Social Justice while minoring in Sociology. She enjoys working with young people and is an advocate for underprivileged youth and women of color. Charleene completed her honors thesis on the reproductive freedoms of young Black women whom have historically been marginalized within the reproductive health care industry. Following the presentation of her research, she was awarded the Honey Nashman Community Engaged research prize and the Global Women’s Institute prize at GW Research Days. One of the highlights of Charleene’s college career was furthering her studies in Christchurch, New Zealand at the University of Canterbury. Charleene will be attending The University of Notre Dame Law School in fall 2017.
